Pierre-Hugues Herbert (180th) emerged victorious in his match against Emil Ruusuvuori (221st) at the Cherbourg-en-Cotentin Tennis Challenger (Manche), (7-6, 6-1).
After a tie-break in the first set, the Frenchman easily won the second set with 12 aces, securing a place in the semifinals.
The top seed will face Austrian Jurij Rodionov in the semifinals this Saturday, March 15 (not before 4:30 PM). The Austrian defeated Matteo Martineau, the finalist of the previous edition.
The other semifinal will pit Dutchman Jelle Sels against German Patrick Zahraj.
