On his YouTube podcast, Roddick analyzed the situation of world No. 3, Zverev. Despite reaching 3 Major finals and winning 7 Masters 1000 titles, the German has never won a Grand Slam or reached the world No. 1 ranking—and he’s now 28 years old.
"The biggest criticism you can make is that he’s not Roger, Rafa, Novak, Alcaraz, or Sinner. The reality is, he’s clearly the best player not to have won a Grand Slam at this point in his career. He talks about it a lot, so do others, which adds extra pressure.
Does he want to be the best player never to win a Major? Or does he win a Grand Slam and surpass players like me, Medvedev, and others against whom his career stats are favorable—except in rankings and Majors?
