Hingis: "Andreeva asked me this year if I wanted to coach her".
For the Australian Open Sit-Down podcast, Martina Hingis spoke about Mirra Andreeva and made a revelation.
She says: "I enjoy watching Mirra Andreeva. She's been in the quarter-finals and semi-finals at various events, including the French Open and the Australian Open.
It's funny, because this year she asked me if I wanted to coach her.
Unfortunately, I couldn't accept because my daughter goes to nursery school and I can't travel too much.
But Conchita Martinez is doing an excellent job of helping her progress, defining her game and making her a better player.
I like her style, her attitude. I think she can still turn the corner and become a top 10 player."
