le 02/01/2025 à 12h17

The final results of the round of 16 at the WTA 500 Brisbane tournament are in.

Top seed 1 and favorite to win the title, Aryna Sabalenka had to battle hard, but finally ended her match in two sets against Yulia Putintseva (7-6, 6-4 in 1h49 of play).

This was her second win of the tournament, following her victory over Renata Zarazua in the previous round (6-4, 6-0).

The Brisbane quarter-finals take place this Friday. World number 1 Sabalenka will face Marie Bouzkova, who defeated Jelena Ostapenko and Victoria Azarenka in her last two rounds.

Also on the bill is the mouth-watering clash between Ons Jabeur and Mirra Andreeva.

In the bottom half of the draw, there were many surprises, with the early elimination of Navarro, Kasatkina, Shnaider and Kostyuk.

All remains open, and Ashlyn Krueger will face Polina Kudermetova, a qualifier.

Finally, Ukrainian player Anhelina Kalinina will face Australian wild card Kimberly Birrell, who eliminated Emma Navarro and Anastasia Potapova in succession, for a place in the last four of the first WTA 500 of the 2025 season.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

How about leavin...

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.

As a long time player and lover of this game , I don't know how much of this I can tolerate. For example I waited hours last night for you to confirm my win and post my points. Every ot...

This week I have used all my formulas and best guesses to try to achieve the high score jimandlori958 set in our last competition. I am two games short because of cancelations and I need all wins to get there.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Grenier and Hsu at the Kobe tournament? The match was played to completion and on time.

Grenier def Ysu 6-2 , 6-2 at Kobe today and the TT canceled the match.

An impressive win.. Congrats to our winner this week, jimandlori958 and with a score that could not be caught or matched. I don't remember a 56 in a while with our group. Nice to see everyone using the 2 point predictions. Can't win without 'em.
