Hopman Cup: Italy Dominates Croatia in Opening Match, Gasquet and Paquet to Play for France Tomorrow

A prestigious exhibition event held for many years in Australia, the Hopman Cup continues to thrive in Europe, with the 2025 edition kicking off this Wednesday in Italy, in the city of Bari.

On the first day of competition, the host nation took to the court against Croatia in the opening match of Group B. Flavio Cobolli and Lucia Bronzetti secured victory for Italy by defeating Duje Ajduković (6-7, 6-4, 10-6) and Donna Vekić (6-3, 4-6, 10-1), respectively.

Matches will continue tomorrow with France, the final nation in Group B. Richard Gasquet and Chloé Paquet will aim to secure a win for Les Bleus against the Croatian team.

The day will conclude with the first match of Group A, where Greece faces Spain. Despina Papamichail will challenge Marina Bassols before Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on Roberto Bautista Agut.
