Ugo Humbert enjoys indoor play and he continues to prove it in Basel. The Metz native, facing the number 1 seed Taylor Fritz in the second round, delivered an impeccable performance to win 6-3, 6-4 in 1 hour and 19 minutes.
He notably broke the American's serve four times, who had struggled to get past Valentin Vacherot yesterday. Humbert, just days away from defending a significant number of points in Paris, thus secures his first victory of the year over a Top 10 player.
He will play tomorrow in the quarterfinals against Reilly Opelka. This will be his third consecutive match this week against an American player.
