Humbert: "With the heat in Australia, we feel as if we hadn't done any preparation".
Ugo Humbert played two matches in the United Cup, before France was eliminated. Despite the elimination, the Frenchman is pleased to have gained some playing time.
In a statement relayed by Tennis Majors, he declares: "I came here because I knew I'd have at least two good preparation matches.
In the third set, it was a little harder physically, but overall, I felt I had a good feeling, particularly on my serve."
He also commented on the weather conditions in Australia, reputed to be very harsh for tennis players: "I'm happy to have been able to play these two matches before going to Melbourne.
In fact, every time you arrive in Australia, you feel good because you've just done your preparation.
Then you arrive, and with the heat, you're a mess, as if you'd done nothing all winter. It's normal, it takes a little time.
