Hurkacz suffers calf injury just days before the US Open
Hubert Hurkacz was forced to retire from the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 on Saturday with a calf injury. He had just lost the first set (6-3) to Frances Tiafoe.
The Pole's injury does not appear to be too serious, however, and he probably decided not to take any risks just over a week before the start of the US Open (August 26 - September 08).
The world n°7 had already missed a month's competition after injuring his knee against Arthur Fils on the grass of Wimbledon in early July.
