Hurkacz walks out in the second round of the Australian Open

Hubert Hurkacz and the Australian Open are already over. Seeded number 18, the Pole, who defeated Tallon Griekspoor in the first round, was unable to confirm his convincing success.

Faced with Miomir Kecmanovic, ranked 51st in the world, the big Polish waiter completely fell apart, losing in three short sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-2).

Despite 14 aces, Hurkacz didn't shine in this match (38 unforced errors, 6 double faults and a single break point which he failed to convert).

Quarter-finalist last year in Melbourne, where he was eliminated by eventual finalist Daniil Medvedev, Hurkacz will exit the top 20 at the end of the tournament.

This is the first time since March 2021 that he will not feature in the top 20 of the ATP rankings.

For his part, Kecmanovic continues on his way. After dominating Lajovic and Hurkacz, he will face Holger Rune in the next round.

He will have the opportunity to reach the last 16 of the Australian Open for the third time in his career, after 2022 and 2024.
