"I am proud of my career progression," says Fritz

Taylor Fritz didn’t have to work too hard to advance to the Wimbledon quarterfinals after his opponent, Jordan Thompson, retired early.
Before the tournament, the American had stated he felt capable of winning the title and made it one of his main goals.
During a press conference, he opened up about his mindset: "It’s essential for me to preserve my physical and mental energy in the early rounds of a Grand Slam.
I’ve struggled a lot in the opening matches here, but I feel ready to deliver strong performances. When you’re considered a favorite, the pressure increases, but lately, I’ve been much less nervous in big tournaments.
Having already reached the later stages gives me a lot of confidence.
Honestly, I’m proud of my career progression; I feel like I’m constantly improving. Every day, I strive to push myself and become a better tennis player."
He will face Karen Khachanov for a spot in the semifinals.
