I am very relieved," says Pospisil after his final moments on the tour

Pospisil played the very last match of his career against qualifier Bagnis at the Toronto Masters 1000. Despite winning a set, the Canadian fell in just under two hours (6-2, 3-6, 6-3).
Invited by the organizers, the former world No. 25 shared his feelings after his final moments as a professional player:
"I’m very relieved (laughs), to be honest. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel after the match. I thought I was ready to retire, but now that it’s done, I know I’m very relieved, and I’m glad that in a way, it’s behind me. I wish I hadn’t strained my muscles in the fifth game and could have enjoyed the match a bit more. But yeah, it was still very special to finish here in Canada."
As for his future, the 35-year-old stated that he wouldn’t take on a full-time role related to the tennis world:
"I think if I stayed involved in tennis, it would definitely be part-time, and it would be for Canadian tennis. I don’t know if I have what it takes to stay in this sport long-term, except maybe to lend a helping hand.
Giving back to the community or to young players who might be less privileged, who don’t have opportunities, because in a way, I can relate to them. But I don’t want to stay in tennis full-time. It’s a sport that demands a lot, physically and mentally, and at some point, you burn out.
