I came close to perfection," admits Alcaraz after his commanding quarterfinal win at Roland Garros

Carlos Alcaraz cruised past Tommy Paul in the Roland Garros quarterfinals and will play his third career semifinal at Porte d'Auteuil on Friday.
The world No. 2 and defending champion reflected on his performance during the quarterfinal in his press conference:
"Today was incredible. It was one of those days where you feel amazing. You know the ball is going in, no matter how you hit it.
Every shot could be a winner. Everything was almost perfect. What more could I have done? There are always a few mistakes here and there, but I think I came close to perfection."
Journalists also asked Alcaraz about Lorenzo Musetti, his upcoming semifinal opponent:
"He’s world No. 7 or No. 6, I think. He’s joined a group of players who have all reached the semifinals of major clay-court tournaments in a single season. I believe only four players have done that before.
That shows his current level and the confidence he has. I’ve watched some of his matches, and he’s playing at a very high level. If I want to come out on top, I’ll have to bring the same level of play. And I’ll try to enjoy it because it’s going to be a great battle.
