Alizé Cornet advanced to the final round of Wimbledon qualifying by defeating 19-year-old Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva.
The Frenchwoman took pleasure in her performance: "I get a kick out beating young kids, driving them crazy. It’s kind of satisfying, honestly. These are the kinds of moments I came back for."
In the next round, she will face another French player, Elsa Jacquemot, whom she watched at Roland-Garros this year while commentating for France Télévisions.
"She’s much younger than me, she’ll be in better physical shape, no doubt about that. As for me, I have to recover from my match at the ripe age of 35, so we’ll see what I still have left to give.
But I’ll go out there with courage and heart," Cornet said, as reported by *L’Équipe*.
