"I had no particular expectations today," admits Yastremska despite her victory in Montreal

Dayana Yastremska came within two points of defeat but ultimately emerged victorious in her duel against Camila Osorio in the second round of the WTA 1000 in Montreal (3-6, 7-6, 6-2).
The world No. 35 will face Emma Navarro for a spot in the round of 16 but admitted she didn’t expect much from herself during this match against the Colombian.
For context, the Ukrainian, who had visa issues, initially planned to skip this Canadian tournament but managed to travel to Quebec at the last minute, even though she didn’t have much time to prepare.
"I only arrived here last night because I had to wait for the decision regarding my U.S. visa, and I was 100% sure I would play tomorrow (Wednesday). I spoke to the tournament supervisor and hoped my match would be postponed so I could have a day to recover, but unfortunately, it was scheduled for today (Tuesday).
Yesterday, I only had 45 minutes of practice to get used to the court. Honestly, I had no particular expectations today. I just wanted to see how far I could go. It’s very hot, and my body, as well as my mind, struggled to adjust to the time zone change.
This is a new experience for me, and I’m proud to have fought until the end and pushed beyond my limits. Right now, I’m only thinking about recovery. I know I definitely won’t be playing my next match tomorrow," Yastremska told Tribuna.
