"I have never played against someone who puts me under so much pressure in rallies," Musetti in awe of Sinner after their US Open clash

Lorenzo Musetti knew the task would be difficult against Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of the US Open. The world No. 10 was powerless against the world No. 1, who remained as impressive as ever and left him with only crumbs (6-1, 6-4, 6-2 in 1 hour and 59 minutes of play).
Speaking at a press conference after losing for the third time in as many meetings against his compatriot, Musetti was effusive in his praise for his friend Sinner.
"A lot has changed since our last meeting (in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Monte Carlo Masters, won by Sinner in straight sets). We have both grown, but obviously, he has probably become the best player in the world in the meantime.
Honestly, I have never played against someone who puts me under so much pressure in rallies, and I didn't have many opportunities to return the ball—he was always the one dictating the play. So it was quite unpleasant to play against him.
I am truly impressed by Jannik (Sinner)'s performance today. I think he served very well and pushed me to my limits. Of course, he is better than me, and he proved it.
But I am happy to have played against him to understand the things I need to improve in my game. So I hope I can soon get another chance to try my luck," Musetti told The Tennis Letter after the match.
