"I have to listen to my body," Hurkacz withdraws from Wimbledon

This Friday, the Wimbledon draw took place for both singles brackets. In the men's section, world No. 39 Hubert Hurkacz was set to face British player Billy Harris.
However, just hours after the draw, the Polish player—a former world No. 6 and two-time Masters 1000 champion—announced his withdrawal from the London Grand Slam on his social media.
Hurkacz, 28, missed several weeks at the start of the season due to a back injury and had decided to compete in the 's-Hertogenbosch tournament to kick off his grass-court season.
After his opening win against Roberto Bautista Agut, Hurkacz withdrew before his round of 16 match against Mark Lajal. Since then, he has not returned to the court after his back injury flared up again. As he confirmed on Instagram, he did not recover in time.
"This is not an easy post to write. After consulting with my team, I’ve made the decision to withdraw from Wimbledon this year. During preparation, my body reacted to synovial membrane irritation, which is part of the healing process from my surgery.
It needs rest and treatment, and I have to listen to my body. Thank you for your love and support—it means a lot to me. I’ll be back soon," the Pole wrote on social media.
