"I hope I'll feel better tomorrow," Hurkacz provides update on his back injury

Hubert Hurkacz has seen his 2025 season disrupted by a back injury. After an early exit at Indian Wells, the Polish world No. 32 returned a month and a half later at the Madrid tournament and is gradually regaining his form.
A quarterfinalist in Rome, he followed up with a final in Geneva against Novak Djokovic, where he came close to victory. In any case, for his return to grass, the 2021 Wimbledon semifinalist defeated Roberto Bautista Agut (7-6, 6-4) in his opening match at the s-Hertogenbosch tournament.
Next, he will face Mark Lajal for a spot in the quarterfinals. During his match against the Spaniard, Hurkacz's back flared up, forcing him to call for the physio toward the end of the encounter. After his win, he provided an update on his condition.
"This is my first time here, and I love the tournament. Playing on grass is always special for me. Obviously, toward the end, I had to fight through it—it wasn’t easy—but I hope I’ll feel better tomorrow.
My back is still a bit sore, but I’ll work with the physio in the coming hours and do everything to improve my condition," Hurkacz told ATP media.
