During his match won against Nuno Borges with a score of 7-5, 6-4, Casper Ruud attempted a banana shot—the inside-out forehand that mimics the shape of a banana with its trajectory, a signature move of Rafael Nadal.

However, the attempt didn’t go as planned, as the Norwegian’s shot ended up hitting the advertising board to the right of the net.

On Twitter, Ruud made light of it: "I need to go take a trip to the Rafa Nadal Academy to polish up this banana shot."

Having advanced to the Toronto round of 16, the Norwegian will get another chance to try this shot against Karen Khachanov.
