I never said my emotions take over during matches," says Moutet
Ahead of his Davis Cup debut with France, Moutet opened up to our colleagues at L'Équipe. Known for his strong character, the French player was asked about his ability to handle the heated atmosphere of the Davis Cup.
"You're the ones saying I don't get over it. I didn't say I get overwhelmed by my emotions during matches. The most important thing is that the performance is there in the end. Everyone has their own way of performing. Some keep things inside, others express them more.
What matters is finding your own way to be effective. That's what I'm constantly searching for. But there's no chance I'll stray from my thing. The desire to do well is there. I'm playing well, I have no physical issues. I'm ready to step on the court and give it my all."
Regarding the matchup against Dino Prizmic (20 years old, ranked 119th), he stated:
"The bounce is lower. The conditions will be the same for everyone. But they've done things right. The arena is beautiful. It's up to us to find the solutions. I've never played Prizmic before. He's a young player full of potential. He's a solid, courageous player. He's at home, so we'll have to go beat him in his own backyard. And I'm ready to do that.
