Moutet and Rinderknech Set for Singles: Schedule for Croatia-France Davis Cup Tie Announced
Last Sunday, the players selected by Paul-Henri Mathieu to compete in the Davis Cup qualifying tie in Osijek flew to Croatia.
With the withdrawal of Ugo Humbert and the absence of Arthur Fils, both suffering from back injuries, the lineup was reshuffled. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Arthur Rinderknech, Benjamin Bonzi, Corentin Moutet, and Pierre-Hugues Herbert are fine-tuning the final details of their preparation for this duel.
On the eve of the first day of competition between the two nations, the draw took place this Thursday. Opening the tie on Friday, September 12, at 4 PM, Dino Prizmic will face Corentin Moutet, followed by the second singles match between Marin Čilić, the 2018 Davis Cup winner against France, and Arthur Rinderknech.
The schedule continues on Saturday, September 13. The doubles will kick off the day at 1 PM, with the pairs Mate Pavić/Nikola Mektić and Benjamin Bonzi/Pierre-Hugues Herbert competing for the third point.
Afterward, the final two singles matches will see Marin Čilić take on Corentin Moutet, and Dino Prizmic face Arthur Rinderknech. France will aim to secure a spot in the Davis Cup Final 8, set to take place in Bologna in two months, and to clinch their first victory against Croatia in the competition since 2004.
