I still have the shorts from 2015," says Wawrinka on the 10th anniversary of his Roland-Garros title
Roland-Garros will celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Wawrinka's victory at Porte d'Auteuil. The Swiss player triumphed against Djokovic in the final, joining the select group of players who have lifted the trophy in the 21st century. Since 2005, only five players have etched their names on the Coupe des Mousquetaires (Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Wawrinka, Alcaraz).
In a press conference, the 38-year-old player, who will face Fearnley in the first round, spoke about this symbolic date and acknowledged keeping some memories:
"I am often reminded of it. But I'm not someone who dwells too much on the past, especially while still being active, I have to live in the present. Of course, I know it's been ten years, so it's normal. As for the shorts, yes, I still have them, I kept them carefully (smile)."
Indeed, the player wore an atypical pair of shorts, which became legendary following his victory. At the time, he jokingly said:
"It's the all-in-one. I go swimming, I go to tennis, and then I sleep in them.
