I want him to have tears and chills," says Mauresmo about the tribute that will be paid to Nadal

Sunday will mark the start of the 2025 edition of Roland-Garros. But the day, beyond the matches and emotions present on the courts, will take a completely different turn on Philippe-Chatrier after the three daytime session matches.
Indeed, it will be none other than the king of clay, Rafael Nadal, who will appear on the court where he has been crowned fourteen times, for a tribute prepared in the utmost secrecy by director Amélie Mauresmo and her team.
Although no information has leaked, the former world No. 1 spoke again on the subject during the show Clique and was interviewed by journalist Mouloud Achour:
"Nadal wished to end his career at the end of last year. It was somewhat a common wish, from both Rafa and the tournament, to be able to say his true, his final goodbye, here at Roland-Garros, in Paris.
I won’t go into the details of what we’re going to do. I always start from the principle that it should suit the player being honored. It's his wish first, before what everyone wants to see."
Mouloud Achour: "Is it Roger Federer who will be presenting a prize or making a speech?"
Mauresmo: "May 25th."
Achour: "You already have sparkling eyes, I can feel it."
Mauresmo: "Because you know what we’re going to see. We've been working on it for several months, obviously I know what we’re going to see. I especially want him to have tears and chills. To feel that emotion and love. He has given us so much, we want to give back to him as well.
