I watched Pouille against Nadal at the US Open and told myself I was going to do it," reveals Rinderknech after his victory over Zverev

Arthur Rinderknech defeated world No. 3 Alexander Zverev in the first round of Wimbledon. Accompanied by Lucas Pouille during this grass-court tour, the Frenchman revealed to RMC that he had rewatched the end of Pouille’s match against Rafael Nadal at the 2016 US Open.
The former world No. 10 had managed to beat the Spaniard in five sets to reach the quarterfinals of the American Grand Slam.
He said: "The night before last, on the eve of the match, I watched the end of Pouille’s match against Nadal and told myself I was going to do it, that I was capable.
We both talked about it before the match, we were both certain I could do it. I didn’t tell him, but I watched the end of his match, and it gave me extra motivation, energy, and belief in myself.
