"I went to throw up," Zverev recalls his abrupt exit from the court at the start of his match against Cobolli in Halle

Alexander Zverev has secured his spot in the Halle semifinals. The German, seeded No. 2 in this grass-court tournament, managed to overcome Flavio Cobolli for the second time this season (6-4, 7-6) after his victory in the third round of Roland-Garros a few weeks ago.
However, the world No. 3 likely gave himself a scare early in the match when he abruptly left the court mid-game while Zverev was serving for the first time (0-1 Cobolli, 40/40 on his service game).
After the match, the player himself addressed this unusual incident, which didn’t prevent him from advancing to the semifinals, where he will face his rival Daniil Medvedev.
"I felt fine before the match, and then, all of a sudden, I felt really, really sick. I went to throw up, and 15 minutes later, I felt better.
I can’t tell you what was wrong—I’ve never felt anything like that before, to be honest. I hope I’ll still feel good in two hours when the match adrenaline wears off.
After that, I think I played a pretty good match overall," Zverev told the ATP’s official website shortly after his victory over the Italian, who is ranked 24th in the world.
