"I will remember last season's experience here for the rest of my life," Krejcikova reflects on her 2024 Wimbledon title

Barbora Krejcikova arrives in London with the goal of defending her 2024 Wimbledon title.
During a press conference on media day, the Czech player reflected on her victory last year: "Honestly, coming back here is an incredible experience. I will remember last season's experience here for the rest of my life.
It was a very special moment to arrive at the club and relive all those memories from 2024. I’m fully savoring this experience. Every time I step into the club, the memories come flooding back—it’s beautiful and unique.
A lot has changed since then, I’ve grown, but I’m happy and privileged to be in this position as the defending champion before the tournament begins."
She also discussed her physical condition and preparation for this year’s Wimbledon: "After withdrawing from Eastbourne, I needed a few days of rest, where it was absolutely essential not to touch a racket during that time. But I used it to focus on other activities off the court.
I’m feeling better day by day, and I’m very pleased with that. The preparation is the same: for me, it’s a new tournament despite last year’s win, so my goal is to come back here and perform well again.
I’ve worked hard for a long time to be here and enjoy this privilege. I hope everything goes well on Tuesday, that everything falls into place. I hope to play a good match and, if possible, have a great tournament."
Krejcikova will face Alexandra Eala in the first round.
