If Novak is playing well, it's an open match, Corretja's analysis of the anticipated clash between Djokovic and Alcaraz

Djokovic and Alcaraz will meet this Friday evening (9:00 PM French time) in the US Open semifinals. A highly anticipated clash that has been analyzed by numerous consultants, including Alex Corretja. On SuperTennis, he stated the following:

"Carlos is playing the best tennis of his career because I think he is more mentally mature, especially from the perspective of managing his emotions. He is aware that there are moments when he needs to hit more winners and others when he needs to be a bit calmer.

Off the court, he has found good stability. For now, I think he is the player who has played the best tennis here in New York.

On the other hand, Novak enjoys playing against Carlos because he plays very fast. He feels he can play at high speed. Additionally, this is the Grand Slam where he has arrived in the semifinals in the best form. However, against Carlos, he will need to be very aggressive.

If his serve drops in performance, given Carlos's return, he will have problems. If Novak is playing well, it's an open match. If you play during the day, it's better for Carlos, while it's better to play in the evening, with less heat and less humidity, for Novak.

If both players play at 100% of the current capability, Alcaraz wins the match hands down.
If Alcaraz plays at 90% and Djokovic 100%, Djokovic might stand a chance, but a slim one.
He needs Alcaraz to be below 90% to have a good chance of winning.
A win against a better opponent because they had a bad day on the court is always anti-climatic.
