"If the match goes to 5 sets, I'd give the edge to Novak", McEnroe analyzes the match between Djokovic and Sinner
This Friday sees the semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros. Although the Italian is the clear favorite, some feel that the Serb has a good chance.
For John McEnroe, if the match were to go to 5 sets, Djokovic would have the advantage. He explains: "Believe it or not, I think if it came down to five sets, I'd give the edge to Novak, even though he's older, because Sinner hasn't played much lately.
I think you have to wonder how he's going to cope mentally and physically, given that he hasn't played many matches. It's quite surprising when you think about it, given that one is 38 and the other 23.
Djokovic won't be easy to deal with, I promise you. He knows he doesn't have many chances left, I imagine, unless he's Superman. Well, maybe he is.
But Sinner will be more aggressive than Zverev. These guys hit so hard that you have to go very fast to try and get the ball back. I think Sinner will try to play that way, and we'll see if Novak can handle it."
