"If you don't like what you're doing, you can always do something else," Osaka responds to Zverev's comments

If you don't like what you're doing, you can always do something else, Osaka responds to Zverev's comments

After his shocking statement following his defeat at Wimbledon, Zverev sparked reactions from many players on the tour. Sabalenka, Rublev, and even Alcaraz addressed the issue of mental health raised by the German. But they weren't the only ones.

Known for being honest on such topics, world No. 53 Osaka responded to the three-time Grand Slam finalist's remarks:

"I don’t know if I’m the kind of person who should give advice—it’s very hard to make a statement on this issue. Usually, I have to think about it for hours. I guess it depends on every moment in life, even if everything is temporary.

I don’t know, life is serious and at the same time not so much. If you don’t really like what you’re doing, you can always do something else. I’m not saying I should necessarily stop playing tennis—I’m sure a lot of people would want me to continue—but I don’t know. I always think people should do what makes them happy, no matter what."
