"I’ll need a bit of time to get back into it," Swiatek discusses the rest of her season after Wimbledon triumph
Iga Swiatek claimed her 6th Grand Slam title at this year’s Wimbledon tournament. The Polish player delivered a flawless final against Amanda Anisimova (6-0, 6-0), also securing her first WTA tour trophy since Roland-Garros last year.
Before preparing for the North American hardcourt swing, Swiatek—who returned to the No. 3 ranking earlier this week—confirmed she would take a few days off before resuming training.
"I’ll probably have six days of rest, which is the maximum I could negotiate. But I have to say these last two weeks have been the best part of my season. I really enjoyed myself on the court, even though I didn’t expect that on grass.
I’m eager to get back on the court and relive those feelings. Of course, after such a win, with all the emotions and everything that comes with it, I’ll probably need a little time to reset.
But with the US Open coming up and the tour being so intense, there’s not much time for a proper break, that’s for sure," admitted the 24-year-old Pole to *The Tennis Gazette* after her recent triumph on the London grass.
