She arrived at the match exhausted and very nervous," Stubbs reflects on the Swiatek-Anisimova final
Rennae Stubbs, winner of 4 Grand Slam doubles titles, spoke about the Wimbledon final between Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimova.
For her, despite the bad result for the American, there are positives to take away. She states, "Even in the final, Iga Swiatek didn't let go. She continued to do what she had to do.
Obviously, Amanda Anisimova was completely absorbed in the final. She was probably exhausted after her victory in the semi-final. She arrived at the match exhausted and very nervous.
You could see that her movements were different, she was no longer herself. She had no balance on the court.
I thought she was just frozen. It happens, she was exhausted. But Amanda will learn from it and become a better player.
