"I'm happy with how I handled the playing conditions," Raducanu's words after her win over Osaka

Raducanu kicks off the American tour in top form. With two singles wins and a doubles victory at the Washington tournament, Raducanu confirms her upward trajectory since the start of the year. After securing a spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Osaka (6-4, 6-2), the Brit expressed her high satisfaction with her current form:
"I knew it would be a really tough match. Naomi has won four Grand Slams, been world No. 1, and won the Masters. She’s very dangerous, and on hard courts, I know she’s especially comfortable. I had to bring my best game and make sure my serve was really sharp.
I’m really proud of how I handled it. I’ve also made some progress on my return game after taking some time to adjust. I’m really pleased with how I managed the ball speed and the playing conditions here in Washington (averaging 30°C during the day)."
For a spot in the semifinals, she will face world No. 90 Maria Sakkari. The Greek player is in great form in the American capital, having eliminated Boulter (No. 41) and Navarro (No. 11) in the previous rounds.
