In Halle, Sinner comes through, Tsitsipas doesn't!

In Halle, Sinner comes through, Tsitsipas doesn't!

This week, the Cadors aren't exactly shining. Making their grass-court debuts, several of them have already fallen. These include Dimitrov, Bublik , Medvedev, Humbert, De Minaur and above all Alcaraz, beaten by Draper (7-6, 6-4).

Jannik Sinner and Stefano Tsitsipas were also beaten. In the Round of 16, one suffered and the other lost.

After an average but victorious first round, Tsitsipas was unable to escape the trap set for him by Jan-Lennard Struff on Thursday. Lacking percussion, the Greek was surprisingly inaccurate, particularly on his return of serve, and failed to get a single break point. Without any solutions, the world number 11 already sees his career come to an end in Germany.

As a result, 'Tsitsi' missed out on a reunion with the ATP Tour's brand-new world number 1, Italy's Jannick Sinner. And yes, although he still needed three sets to get through, the 22-year-old will indeed be in the quarter-finals.

Already tested in the first round against Griekspoor (6-7, 6-3, 6-2), he again had to battle for over 2 hours to qualify. Against Marozsan, the Transalpine remained solid right to the end to qualify (6-4, 6-7, 6-3).

So it's a Struff/Sinner match in the quarters!
