After a magnificent battle against Prizmic (6-4, 5-7, 6-1) in his Davis Cup debut with the French team, Moutet continued his momentum by winning a high-level match against the former 2014 US Open champion: Marin Cilic.

Despite his opponent's high first-serve percentage, the young Frenchman showed great efficiency (6/8 break points converted) to secure qualification for his country. Mentally strong, he did not falter in winning his duel (7-5, 6-4) in front of the 3,500 spectators in the Osijek arena (Croatia).

Thanks to this performance, the French team secured its ticket to the Final 8, which will take place from November 18 to 23 in Bologna—a scenario the Blues hadn't achieved since 2019.

Under the watchful eyes of captain Paul-Henri Mathieu and Gilles Moretton, president of the French Tennis Federation, the strong-willed left-hander transcended himself to end Croatia's dreams.
