Naomi Osaka is in a bit of a panic.

Having just arrived in Cincinnati to play in the WTA 1000, which gets underway this Tuesday, the former world number one has just revealed that her airline (United Airlines) has mislaid her luggage.

Using her status as a professional player, she didn't hesitate to call out the main parties concerned on social networks: "I've lost my bags and if I don't get them back tonight or tomorrow, I literally won't be able to play in Cincinnati."

Arriving with all necessary gear is her responsibility, no one else's. Placing this in the hands of an airline company that screws up everyday is a risk and also her choice. My suggestion would be to have a carry I. with rackets, clothes, shoes, whatever is needed to play for the time when your luggage does not get there due to these circumstances.

I wonder why she wouldn't be able to play? There are tennis shops in Cinci where she can buy clothes, shoes, tennis rackets, etc. Friend lost his luggage on trip and he bought a cheap pair of shoes and cheap, pre-strung racket. I laughed saying he wouldn't be able to play with that cheap racket. He agreed that would likely be the case, but it turned out he played quite well, proving the old adage the most important part of the racket is between shoulder and the finger tips. I'm just saying no reason should couldn't give it a go.

Hope you understand that each tennis player has their own specific racket and tensions which they don't reveal to the outside world.

She is ultimately responsible for having all necessary gear there. Putting that responsibility in the hands of an airlines company is taking a huge risk and is also her choice. My suggestion would be to carry on a bag with a few rackets, clothes and anything that would prevent her from playing.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.
