"It feels a little strange," admits Gasquet on the eve of the last tournament of his career at Roland-Garros

On the occasion of this Roland-Garros tournament, a big name in French tennis is taking his farewell. It is Richard Gasquet, who will be taking on Terence Atmane. The goal for the player from Béziers will be to reach the second round where he would likely face Jannik Sinner for a final gala match.
Present at a press conference before starting his tournament, the 38-year-old player spoke about his somewhat disrupted preparation, having had to withdraw from the Bordeaux Challenger due to a calf injury.
"I'm trying to be ready in terms of tennis and physicality. I've had quite a few issues, so I've tried to heal and be ready, that's the only thing I've been able to think about these past few days.
I've taken all my time and didn't think much about anything else, except for my calf. I'll try to be competitive and to play a good match. After that, we'll see what happens.
It's certainly a little strange to tell myself this is my last one, but I'm very happy to be able to do it here in Paris," Gasquet concluded in recent hours for L'Équipe.
