It has nothing to do with tennis, it's just the trigger," Rublev explains Zverev's mental struggles

Mental health is an increasingly discussed topic among elite athletes. While Zverev, Osaka, or more recently Jabeur have highlighted the psychological challenges they face, Rublev has also spoken on the matter. According to him, these issues are not solely tied to the sport the athletes play but to something far more personal:
"To be honest, it has nothing to do with tennis. You just find excuses like being mentally exhausted or playing non-stop, but it has nothing to do with tennis. In the end, tennis is just the trigger. It’s inside you, and you have to accept that.
Many players love tennis, but this sport triggers mental struggles. Tell Sascha or anyone else to take a break, but it will be hard for him because he loves the game. It’s not as simple as saying, ‘I’ll take a break and lie on the beach’—it’s much harder than that.
