Daniil Medvedev is having a disappointing season. Part of the reason is his early exits in Grand Slam tournaments: a second-round loss at the Australian Open and first-round defeats at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon.
Quoted by Tennis.com, he revisited his early losses in London and Paris: "After Wimbledon, I told myself I played well but still lost in the first round.
And I knew my opponent would probably be knocked out in the second or third round. I thought to myself, ‘Damn, I didn’t play that badly, yet I got eliminated in the first round of a Grand Slam for the second time in a row.’
It really shook me up. But after a few days in Ibiza, you realize the only solution is to work hard. If it doesn’t work out, that’s life.
