"It will depend on who plays the important points better," Medvedev discusses the final against Bublik in Halle

Daniil Medvedev has never seemed so close to winning a 21st title on the ATP circuit. The Russian, ranked 11th in the world, qualified for the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Halle by defeating Alexander Zverev in a tight and uncertain match (7-6, 6-7, 6-4).
After having three match points in the second set, he had to wait until the third to conclude and will face Alexander Bublik in his first final since losing the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells to Carlos Alcaraz in 2024.
Although he has never lost to the Kazakh in six encounters on the ATP circuit, Medvedev knows he will need to be serious if he wants to win on the German grass, having lost the final of the same tournament in 2022 to Hubert Hurkacz.
"I don't know if I'm the favorite in this final, but talking about head-to-head results before a professional circuit final doesn't make any sense. In the same way, we will both play at our level, so it will depend on who plays the important points better.
For example, in the case of Alexander Bublik, it's certain he just had the best tournament of his career at Roland-Garros, even though we know very well that clay is not his preferred surface.
I won't change my mindset when facing him. Whatever happens, tomorrow (Sunday), I have no choice but to bring out the best version of myself if I want to win this title," assured Medvedev to Punto De Break.
