Brad Gilbert, 63 and former world No. 18, is no longer Coco Gauff's coach. The American, former coach of Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and Andy Murray, announced this on his X account on Wednesday.

"Thank you to Coco Gauff and the whole team for this absolutely extraordinary summer of 2023 and for these 14 months of incredible teamwork. Coco, at just 20, your future is incredibly bright, and I wish you nothing but continued success to come. I can't wait to start the next chapter of my coaching career."

This decision follows the young American's very disappointing recent results. With defeats in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon and the US Open, and in the third round of the Paris Olympics.

Prior to this, their collaboration had been very fruitful, enabling Gauff to win the US Open 2023, her first Grand Slam title at just 19 years of age, and then to reach world No. 2, her highest ranking to date.

I said a couple of months ago that maybe she should get rid of Brad when she started to struggle with her serve & he seemed to have been unable to fix it.

He can only do so much

Brad may be a good starter coach for a very young player, but eventually players realise he's rather a jerk and would rather win ugly than develop real court skills. Food, fitness, and fun. Got to enjoy showing your skills in tournaments. Find a mature coach who can grow with you.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
