"It's an opportunity to play against the best players in the world again," Draper discusses his return to competition at UTS London
Having the best season of his career so far, marked by an entry into the top 5 and a first Masters 1000 title at the Indian Wells tournament, Draper saw his year halted by a left arm injury sustained during Wimbledon.
Withdrawn before his second round at the US Open, the Brit, currently ranked 10th in the world, then ended his season as early as September. But the 23-year-old player will soon return to competition, as he will participate in UTS London from December 5th to 7th to get back into the rhythm before the 2026 season.
"I think I came back a bit too early when I played the US Open. After that, I decided to really take a break and take care of myself. And now, I'm regaining confidence and working on my tennis to be back at full capacity. It's an opportunity to get back into competition, but also to play against the best players in the world again.
I think when you take a break, it's really important to get back into their rhythm quickly. Having the chance to play before the upcoming season is important, I think, and especially for me, playing in front of my home crowd, at UTS in London, at the Copper Box Arena. I've never played there before, so I'm looking forward to it," Draper told Tennis Up To Date.
