"It's good to find yourself in this kind of situation and see how you handle it," Draper discusses doubles with Zheng at the US Open
Present in London to compete in the Queen's tournament, Draper attended the press zone. When asked about his recent news, the Brit responded regarding the announcement of his partnership with Chinese world No. 4 Zheng.
The two new partners will compete together in a brand-new mixed doubles format at the US Open this August:
"I know Qinwen from the tour. I’ve crossed paths with her a few times. Obviously, she’s a great player with a really strong game. I think it’ll be fun to play with her and see how we gel. Yeah, I believe I was the one who reached out to her through IMG (management), since she also works with them. It’s good to find yourself in this kind of situation and see how you handle it."
On the sporting side, the player has qualified for the quarterfinals at Queen's and will face American Nakashima.
