"It's not a good way to balance career and family life," Bencic criticizes the WTA

Despite an arm injury that notably made her miss the French Open this year, Belinda Bencic has made a very convincing comeback since the birth of her daughter in April 2024.
However, she has criticized the WTA and its organization. Although she plays more relaxed since becoming a mother, she believes that nothing is arranged for players who have a child to care for.
She states: "I feel like I love tennis more since my return after becoming a mother. I am more relaxed. The WTA has improved conditions for being a mother during one's career, but there is still progress to be made.
The problem is that the schedule is crazy. You can't end in November and go to Australia in mid-December, nor can you play so many mandatory tournaments because if you don't play them, you get fined or have a lower ranking.
It's not a good way to balance career and family life."
Bencic will face Ekaterina Alexandrova this Monday for a place in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
