"It's not always easy to find solutions," admits Swiatek after her win against Kalinskaya at the US Open

Iga Swiatek has advanced to the round of 16 at the US Open. The 2022 champion, however, had to work hard, especially in the first set, where she saved four set points before finally taking the advantage in the tiebreak.
Trailing 5-1 and then 5-2, 40-15 on Anna Kalinskaya's serve, she ultimately turned the situation around before confirming in the second set (7-6, 6-4). In a press conference, the Polish world number 2 reflected on this victory against the Russian player.
"Certainly, it wasn't an easy match, especially at the beginning, but I'm glad I was able to come back by playing better tennis. I made way too many unforced errors in the first set, but it's also important to acknowledge that Anna (Kalinskaya) played really well.
I'm also very happy with how I managed to recover after a very tough start to the match. I stayed positive on the court and eventually found the key to solving my problems.
When you're down 5-1 in the first set, every player can handle the situation differently. Personally, there have been times in the past when I didn't know what to do, when I didn't know what to change when I found myself in similar situations.
My team has helped me in that regard, and we've agreed that there isn't a ton of solutions. You always have to try to put one more ball in play. I think it was smart not to think about hitting a winner on the first shot of the rally.
It's not always easy to find solutions. What you need to do is keep your head up and think about what you can do. Today, I handled that well, because it's pretty easy to panic when you're down 5-1, but I didn't," Swiatek told Punto de Break.
