Victoria Mboko has become the first Canadian player to win the Canada Open since Bianca Andreescu in 2019.

The victory was commented on by Andreescu for CBC News. The 2019 US Open champion shared her advice for the rising star of women's tennis:

"I can only speak from my own experience. For me, it’s very important to fully enjoy the moment. You know, celebrate with your family, your friends, as much as possible. But with tennis, there’s a tournament every week. So it can be hard to really savor it. But then, you have to start over from scratch.

I’m sure she wants to achieve much more than this tournament, even though it’s already a huge accomplishment. But you want to keep that momentum going. Focusing on the process rather than the results is very important because once you’ve had a taste of it, you want more.
