Although Jannik Sinner was uncertain before playing his Wimbledon quarterfinal against Ben Shelton, the Italian won in straight sets.
In the post-match press conference, Shelton praised the qualities of the world No. 1: "It’s frustrating. There are a lot of factors. Alcaraz and Sinner are two different players, two different challenges.
With Sinner, whom I’ve faced more often, his ball speed is extremely high. I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s nothing comparable on the tour.
Playing against him, it’s like everything is twice as fast. Normally, I adapt well to that speed, but it’s tough when someone hits that hard and that consistently from both sides of the court, plus with his exceptional serving level.
