Jeanjean Falls in the First Round of the Monterrey Tournament Against Cocciaretto

From Tuesday night into Wednesday, Léolia Jeanjean made her debut against Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the main draw of the WTA 500 in Monterrey.

The French player had managed to come through the qualifiers and arrived with two wins under her belt against the Italian.

The match started well for the Frenchwoman, who managed to break her opponent right from the start. But, unfortunately for her, she couldn't hold onto this lead and lost the first set 6-3, despite having two break-back points at 5-3.

The second set was similar; Jeanjean was the first to break her opponent's serve but couldn't maintain the momentum. She ultimately lost 6-3, 6-4 to Cocciaretto, who will face Antonia Ruzic in the next round.
