Jacquemot Advances Through Cleveland Qualifiers, Jeanjean Does the Same in Monterrey, Parry Eliminated
Elsa Jacquemot, Léolia Jeanjean, and Diane Parry were exempt from US Open qualifiers and chose to compete in a tournament the week before.
Jacquemot was vying for a spot in the Cleveland main draw against Jessica Failla, ranked 676th in the world. The Frenchwoman secured her qualification with a 7-5, 6-2 victory. She will face Lin Zhu on Monday in the first round.
As for Jeanjean, she took on Elvina Kalieva in the final round of Monterrey qualifiers. She triumphed with a 6-2, 6-3 win and will now face Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the main draw.
Parry had less success in Monterrey, falling to Lulu Sun 6-4, 7-6 after defeating her compatriot Amandine Hesse in the first round.
