Jeanjean loses in the first round of the Merida tournament

Leolia Jeanjean had qualified for the Merida tournament by beating Astra Sharma and Yulia Starodubtseva.

She faced Anhelina Kalinina in the first round. Unfortunately for the Frenchwoman, she lost in three sets in 2h15 of play.

Despite losing the first set 6-4, Jeanjean managed to bounce back in the second, winning 6-1.

She finally collapsed in the third set, after missing a break point in the first game.

In the second round, Kalinina will face either Marta Kostyuk or Daria Saville.
