Kafelnikov Slams Medvedev: "Not winning a single title in three years is incomprehensible"

Guest on the Hardcourt podcast, Yevgeny Kafelnikov sounded the alarm: no titles in three years, lack of training, unclear goals... Medvedev is in the crosshairs of his illustrious compatriot.
Kafelnikov never minces words, especially when it comes to discussing players from his country, like Daniil Medvedev.
Disappointed by his compatriot's drop in performance, the two-time Grand Slam winner questioned Medvedev's work ethic on the show Hardcourt, hosted by former player Elena Dementieva:
"In terms of form, do you see an upward or downward trend? The question is: what are his long-term goals? I'm sure if he wants to be in the top 5, the way he trains... Believe me, I've been in the tennis world my whole life and I've been through the same situation.
At 28, 29, I dropped training, I didn't train anymore. That's why all the physical resources I had when I was young were no longer there. I just accepted the fact that I would never win ATP tournaments again.
I want to be wrong about him and I want to be proven wrong, but that's how I see it. I'm just drawing a parallel. I experienced such a drop in ranking and in terms of wins. Daniil hasn't won a title in three years. It's a wake-up call.
It's incomprehensible that a player with his experience and abilities can't win a single title, even an ATP 250. Everyone says that when a new coach arrives, everything will change. It won't happen until he changes himself. You could give him Darren Cahill and it wouldn't change a thing."
