Kyrgios unfiltered on criticism towards Raducanu: "Where are all the experts now?"
After winning the US Open in 2021 at just 18 years old, Raducanu has faced a tougher period since then. Between inconsistency, injuries, and waves of criticism, the British player has had to overcome many obstacles in her young career.
In Miami, the world No. 60 is showing strong performances. By defeating Anisimova in straight sets (6-1, 6-3), Raducanu secured her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal and her first quarterfinal on the tour since the Seoul tournament last September.
On X, Nick Kyrgios took the opportunity to address the criticism Raducanu had previously faced following her result. He also mentioned Nakashima’s case:
"Nakashima is one of the most underrated players. Also, people are awfully quiet about Raducanu winning now. Where are all the experts now? The coach is overrated."
Emma Raducanu will face Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals.
